Through my writing, I move the cultural dialogue on women, politics, and families.
I have spent two decades working in philanthropy, advocacy, and higher education. I am currently a Fellow in Residence at the National Women's Law Center and a senior advisor to the Democracy Alliance, a progressive donor network. I also serve on the advisory boards for many progressive organizations, including New Media Ventures, Family Story, and the Pipeline Initiative. I have a M.A. and Ph.D. in family social science from the University of Minnesota and live in Washington, DC with my preschool-aged son. I've been fortunate to call Brooklyn, Miami, and the Twin Cities home.
